IMA Kuwait Celebrates 78th Indian Independence Day across All Units

Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Kuwait commemorated the 78th Indian Independence Day with a series of vibrant Programs organized across its various units — Abbassiya, Abu Halifa, Salmiya, Fahaheel, English Unit, Youth Wing, Khaitan & Tamil Unit. The Programs brought together Community Members in large numbers to honor India's Legacy of Freedom, reflect on its Values, and reaffirm the collective responsibility of building a Just and Inclusive Society.
Through Insightful Speeches, Cultural Performances, Spirited Participation and Youth-led Initiatives, the celebrations echoed IMA's message that patriotism is not blind allegiance to any party or ideology but a conscious commitment to Truth, Compassion, Justice, and Unity beyond boundaries of Faith, Caste, or Race.
Abbasiya Unit
Abbassiya Unit hosted its program on 15 Aug Evening at Royal Deccan Palace Salmiya, bringing together Families, Youth, and Elders in a spirit of Solidarity. Inspiring talks by Esteemed Guest Speakers Mr Ram Kumar Nachupally, President-ASSP Kuwait Chapter Toastmasters Club, Mr Jugal Kishor & Keynote Speaker Mr Shamvel Parvez reflected on the Struggles and Sacrifices of India's Freedom Fighters, reminding all that Independence carries the responsibility of safeguarding Justice and Unity. Cultural performances by Children added Color and highlighted India's Pluralistic Heritage.
Abu Halifa Unit
On August 16 at Nizamat Party Hall, Fahaheel, Abu Halifa Unit hosted a remarkable gathering with Distinguished Guests: Mr. Venkata Siva Rao Kaduri, President-Life Again Kuwait & Convenor-United Telugu Forum; Mr Parthasarathi Bardhan- President - Bengali Cultural Society of Kuwait, Mr Lankesh Rajagonda, Academic Director-Barakah PU College and Mr Mohammad Samoil Falahi. Each speaker underlined the need for Justice, Ethics, and Compassion as the True Pillars of Nation Building. The program drew wide community participation, concluding with Cultural Items that celebrated India's Diversity.
English Unit (EU)
On the same evening, English Unit held its celebration at Avanti Palace, Salmiya. Eminent Speakers Mr Sandeep Chabba, Ex Vice President of Kannada Koota, and Mr Faheem Shareef addressed the audience with thought-provoking Speeches on the role of Education, Ethical responsibility, and Interfaith Harmony in preserving the Spirit of Independence. The Event's focus on dialogue and inclusivity deeply resonated with the attendees, particularly the younger generation.
Fahaheel & Mangaf Units
Fahaheel & Mangaf Units' gathering at Souk Sabah on 15 Aug Evening, was marked by reflective talks that captured the True Essence of Freedom. Mr Asif Kamruddin Pathan's talk emphasized the Civic duties that accompany Independence, while Mr Burhanuddin Shoaib reminded the audience of Gratitude and Humility as Core Values of a Free Society. The Program brought the audience into contemplation of the Values that sustain Freedom — Duty, Integrity, and Gratitude — and concluded with a Communal Dinner fostering fraternity among participants.
Salmiya Units
Salmiya Units celebrated Independence Day on August 16 at Royal Deccan Palace, Salmiya. Mr Parvez Hanif who eloquently reminded participants that independence is not only freedom from foreign rule but also freedom in Thought, Conscience, and Action delivered the Keynote Address. He stressed that India's Strength lies in its Unity in Diversity and called on the Community to preserve this Priceless Heritage. The Event included lively Cultural Performances, with active involvement of Children and Families.
Youth Wing (YW)
Youth Wing organized its dynamic and engaging program on August 15 at Rajdhani Palace Khaitan. The Eventful Program centered on the role of Youth as Custodians of Independence. Through Interactive Discussions, Creative Performances, and Motivational Addresses, the program emphasized that Young Indians must carry forward the legacy of Freedom by committing themselves to Truth, Knowledge, Service, and Progressive Patriotism.
Khaitan Unit
On Friday, August 15, the Khaitan Unit celebrated Independence Day at 5:00 PM with the theme “Nation-Building through Justice, Education, and Ethics.” The event, widely attended by community members, reflected on independence as a moral responsibility to cultivate justice and compassion. The evening embodied unity in diversity, with attendees recommitting themselves to the values of freedom.
Tamil Unit Brotherhood Initiative
On India's 78th Independence Day, brothers of IMA Tamil Unit extended the celebrations beyond formal venues by visiting the Mahbulla Area. They engaged with Tamil Fellow Citizens, sharing Sweets, exchanging Warm Greetings, and celebrating the Spirit of Unity and National Pride. During the interaction, Participants reflected on the current state of independent India and reaffirmed their shared commitment to preserving the hard-earned Freedom. The discussions underscored the enduring importance of Brotherhood and collective responsibility in safeguarding the Nation's Democratic Values.
A Collective Spirit of Freedom
The Series of Events across Kuwait conveyed one Resounding Message: True Independence is more than Political Freedom; It is the liberation of Thought, Conscience, and Spirit.
