Urdu Gulban have a tradition of conducting Urdu Mushaira among vibrant literary gatherings where poets recite their verses, weaving together humour, satire, romance, and social reflections. They always arrange a platform for poetry but are also keen in the celebration of the Urdu language, culture, and tradition, bringing audiences and poets into a shared world of rhythm and expression.
Continuing its tradition of honouring poets from India, Urdu Gulban organized a Mushaira in Jeddah to felicitate the renowned poet and author of four books, Janab Qazi Farook Aarifi from Hyderabad, who visited the Red Sea city during his Umrah pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Urdu Gulban President Janab Mehtab Qadar and Vice President Janab Nasir Barni felicitated the guest poet. The Mushaira was presided over by Arab News Chief Editor Janab Siraj Wahab Saheb, while Faisal Tufail served as the convener of the event.
The program commenced with a soulful Qir'at recited by Kamran Khan, followed by a Na'at of Allama Iqbal, beautifully rendered by Faisal Tufail.”
Couplets of poetry were gracefully recited by Anees Ahmed, Kamran Khan, Syed Shaj al Deen, Ahmed Basha, Arshad Kidwai, Imran Awan, Nasir Barni, Mehtab Qadar, Afsar barabanki and the guest poet, Janab Qazi Farook Aarifi
The President of the event, Janab Siraj Wahab, delivered the keynote address and also presented his ghazals to enthral the audience.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Janab Mehtab Qadar. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the Mushaira, which truly showcased a parade of poetry in its finest form.
