The San Antonio United Malayalee Association (SUMA) celebrated the grand festival of Onam on September 13, 2025, at the Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N Hackberry St, San Antonio, TX 78202. Onam, the official festival of Kerala, is an annual harvest and cultural celebration deeply rooted in the legend of the benevolent Asura King Mahabali, who is believed to return each year to visit his people. For Malayalees across the world, it is a time of joy, unity, and cultural pride.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Mr. Sijo Vadakkan (CEO, Trinity Realty), Dr. Rajam Murthy, Mr. Ragaguru Paramswamy (President, IASA), and Mr. Nandakumar (President, SUMA), who facilitated and extended warm Onam greetings to the community. Highlights of the celebration included a grand welcome by Mahabali, the rhythmic beats of Chendamelam, and a vibrant cultural program that captivated the audience.

More than 600 attendees joined in the festivities, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and celebration. No Onam is complete without the traditional Onam Sadya, and this year's elaborate feast was a true delight, catered by Spicy Mutka Restaurant. The 2025 SUMA Onam celebration was a memorable gathering that brought the Malayalee community of San Antonio together in the true spirit of unity, tradition, and festivity. Thank you Sabu John
