To work legally in Nauru as an Indian citizen, a work permit and employment visa are required. The process is as follows:
Step-by-Step Process: Secure a Job Offer: You must have a confirmed job offer from a registered Nauruan employer. The employer must justify why a foreign worker is needed for the position.
Employer Applies for Work Permit: The employer must obtain a work permit from Nauru's Immigration Department. This is the first step before any visa applicatcation. Submit Documents for Employment Visa. Completed visa application form. Copy of passport (valid for at least 3-6 months). Letter from employer stating the reason for employment. Medical certificate. Police clearance certificate. Educational/professional certificates. Passport-size photographs. Proof of accommodation in Nauru
Apply for Visa: After receiving approval for the work permit, you (the applicant) must apply for your employment visa at the Nauru Immigration Office, either through an online system or in person. Visa application and payment must be made with the submission.
Processing Time & Fees: Visa processing typically takes 6 to 7 days. Application fees must be paid directly; fees are non-refundable and should accompany the application.
Arrival in Nauru: On arrival, all details will be checked at the border. Extensions or renewals are possible by visiting the immigration office in Nauru.
Important Notes: Visa validity is generally 30 days (with extensions available).
Any dependents must fill out separate forms.
Incomplete or incorrect documentation may result in application rejection or later cancellation.
