New Delhi: The Sahitya Akademi will present its annual Bal Sahitya Puraskar, recognising outstanding works in children's literature across 24 languages, at a ceremony on November 14 at the Triveni Auditorium in the capital.

The awards will be presented by Akademi President Madhav Kaushik, while eminent Gujarati writer Varsha Das will be the chief guest. Vice President Kumud Sharma will deliver the vote of thanks, and Secretary Pallavi Prashant Holkar will give the welcome address, the Akademi said in a statement.

This year's awardees include Surendra Mohan Das (Assamese, poetry), Tridib Kumar Chattopadhyay (Bengali, stories), Binay Kumar Brahma (Bodo, stories), P.L. Parihar 'Shauq' (Dogri, poetry), Nitin Kushalappa MP (English, stories), Kirtida Brahmbhatt (Gujarati, poetry), Susheel Shukla (Hindi, non-fiction), K. Shivalingappa Handihal (Kannada, short stories), Izhar Mubashir (Kashmiri, short stories), Nayana Adarkar (Konkani, stories) and Munni Kamat (Maithili, short stories).

Other recipients are Sreejith Moothedath (Malayalam, novel), Shanto M. (Manipuri, play), Suresh Govindrao Sawant (Marathi, poetry), Sangmu Lepcha (Nepali, novel), Rajakishore Parhi (Odia, poetry), Pali Khadim (Punjabi, novel), Bhogilal Patidar (Rajasthani, play), Preeti R. Pujara (Sanskrit, poetry), Haralal Murmu (Santali, poetry), Heena Agnani 'Heer' (Sindhi, poetry), Vishnupuram Sarvanan (Tamil, novel), Gangisetty Sivakumar (Telugu, story) and Ghazanfar Iqbal (Urdu, articles).

Each award carries ₹50,000 and a bronze plaque.

An Awardees' Meet will be held on November 15 at the Akademi's Ravindra Bhawan, where the writers will share their creative journeys.
