New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday released 41 literary works produced by the Centres of Excellence for Classical Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Odia, underscoring the government's focus on preserving India's literary heritage.
Addressing the gathering, Pradhan said Indian languages are vital mediums of expression and the Centre is committed to their promotion and preservation. He added that efforts are under way to popularise classical literature and ensure its wider reach. “There is no shortage of funds, and a suitable framework is being developed,” the minister said.
Pradhan also released 13 books along with a 45-episode Sign Language interpretation series of the Tirukkural, prepared by the Central Institute of Classical Tamil (CICT).
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen education, research and cultural pride rooted in Indian languages.
