Chennai: More than 1.27 crore people have registered to participate in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's annual interaction programme aimed at helping students overcome examination-related stress, official sources said.

The initiative, conducted for the past eight years, focuses on easing exam anxiety among students while also engaging parents and teachers. During the interaction, the Prime Minister offers guidance on effective exam preparation, physical fitness and mental well-being.

Registration for the event, scheduled to be held next month, began on the 1st of this month and will remain open until the 11th of next month. As many as 1,27,38,536 people have registered so far, including 1,18,22,663 students, 84,094 teachers and 1,11,779 parents.

Students from Classes 6 to 12 from India and abroad, along with their parents and teachers, are eligible to participate in the programme.

According to officials, participants can register through the MyGov portal. From among those who submit the best questions, 36 participants from each state will be selected for direct interaction.

The programme has gained widespread participation over the years and is seen as a key outreach initiative to promote a positive and stress-free learning environment for students appearing for public examinations.

Officials said the response this year reflects the growing interest among students and educators in the Prime Minister's message on balanced preparation and holistic development.
