Chennai: The deadline for students to apply for the National Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2025-26 has been extended till September 30, 2025.

The online portal, which opened on June 2, 2025, requires selected students to complete a one-time registration before submitting applications for the scholarship.

The scheme, implemented by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Union Ministry of Education, aims to support students from economically weaker sections and prevent school dropouts after the primary level.
