Chennai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is celebrating its 90th year with various events, including the RBI90Quiz, a nationwide general knowledge competition for undergraduate students.

This multi-stage quiz aims to engage young minds and highlight the RBI's journey.

The online phase of the quiz was conducted from September 19-21, 2024, selecting teams for State-level rounds. In Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, 168 students from 84 teams competed at Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kanchipuram, represented by Tarun R. Jain and Asmit Kumar Sahoo, secured first place. Teams from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, and PGP College of Agricultural Sciences, Namakkal, claimed the second and third positions, respectively.

The top three teams received cash prizes of ₹2 lakh, ₹1.5 lakh, and ₹1 lakh.

The Kanchipuram team will now advance to the Zonal round scheduled in Kochi on November 25, 2024. The national final is set to take place in Mumbai this December.

Through the RBI90Quiz, the central bank aims to foster knowledge, teamwork, and awareness among students, commemorating its significant milestone in an engaging and educational manner.
